The file sharing news site FreakBits did a roundup of BitTorrent's most downloaded eBooks and compiled a list of “The 10 Most Pirated eBooks of 2009”, shedding some light on the reading habits of eBook pirates.

All titles on the list have been downloaded between 100,000 and 250,000 times – figures high enough to worry publishers. However, these titles are not the ones usually found on display at bookshops. Most of the books on the list fall either into the nerdy niche category, or are porn related.

This list reveals that piracy is not that threatening to the authors that one would find in the New York Times bestseller list. In fact, the only bestselling author that made it to the list is Stephenie Meyer.
